Israel demanded release of 11 hostages for Gaza truce

Israeli authorities are demanding that the Palestinian Hamas movement release 11 hostages in order to establish a 40-day truce in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported, citing a source in the Israeli security services.

According to journalists, they are talking about a soldier of the Israeli army Idan Alexander and 10 other hostages. In addition, Tel Aviv demands to provide them with detailed information about the condition of the kidnapped citizens.

Israel is also demanding that the Palestinian movement Hamas provide a full list of the hostages still in Gaza. During the previous ceasefire, Hamas only handed over “general information” on the fates of 33 hostages.

Hamas is now prepared to release five hostages, to which the Israeli authorities do not agree.

On March 18, Israel resumed its military operation against Hamas and strikes on the Gaza Strip, where a ceasefire had been in effect since January 19. Its actions were a response to the movement’s rejection of a US plan to release hostages during the truce and extend it.

Israel had warned the US in advance that the fighting would continue. Hamas, on the other hand, said it was Israel that cancelled the ceasefire agreement, putting the lives of the captives at risk.
