An Israeli attack on the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday caused the destruction of a residential building where leaders of Iran-backed militant groups were meeting.
The building reportedly housed Iranian advisers assisting the administration of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based non-profit organisation, said the missile strike killed at least five people.
Another Israeli attack means an exacerbation of already heightened tensions in the region.
Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have been targeting merchant ships in the Red Sea in recent weeks.
