One person killed, other injured in Israeli raid on Khiam City Southern Lebanon
One person was killed and another injured in an Israeli raid on Khiam city in southern Lebanon, 24 hours after Israeli troops withdrew and the Lebanese army entered.
Lebanon’s health ministry said in a statement on Thursday that an Israeli raid on the town of Khiam left one person dead and another injured.
Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s interim prime minister, earlier condemned the Israeli troops’ attack on the town of Hiam in southern Lebanon hours after the Lebanese army deployed.
The Lebanese army deployed around the town of Khiam after Israeli troops withdrew from there, while the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) increased patrols in the area.
The ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel came into force on November 27 following the Israeli aggression on Lebanese territory, which lasted for more than a year and increased in pace in late September last year, killing and injuring thousands of civilians.
