US President Joe Biden stated on Tuesday that Israel would lose international support if it continued military operations in the Gaza Strip.
“Israel has had the overwhelming support of the vast majority of nations. If it keeps this up […], it they’re going to lose support from around the world, and that is not in Israel’s interest.”
Biden noted that the Muslim holy month of Ramadan could provide a chance for a temporary ceasefire.
There’s been an agreement by the Israelis that they would not engage in activities during Ramadan.
The war began when Hamas militants stormed into southern Israel from the Gaza Strip on 7 October, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostages.
Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip has killed more than 29,000 Palestinians since 7 October, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported.
