The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Monday called on residents of the cities of Gaza and Jabalia in the Gaza Strip to leave the areas due to military operations, Israeli media reported on Monday.
“The IDF is operating with great force in these areas. Military operations will continue and intensify (…) For your safety, leave immediately to the west and then south to Al-Mawasi via the Ar-Rashid road,” IDF spokesman Avichai Adraee said.
Meanwhile, Al Arabiya reports heavy bombing in the north of the Gaza Strip. According to some reports, Israeli tanks have entered the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood in eastern Gaza City.
According to Palestinian sources, 25 people were killed in Israeli strikes on Monday.
Last week, Axios, citing sources, reported that US President Donald Trump, following the start of a truce between Israel and Iran, intends to promote an end to hostilities in the Gaza Strip and the continuation of normalisation of relations between Israel and Arab countries.
Later, Trump said that the parties to the conflict in the Gaza Strip might reach a ceasefire agreement this week.
Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer is expected to arrive in Washington on Monday to discuss Gaza, Iran and regional issues. On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israel. In response, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
