Israel’s ambassador to the UN put on a yellow star, demanding the immediate hostage release

Israeli envoy to the UN Gilad Erdan and his team appeared with a yellow star from WWII and accused Hamas of atrocities, comparing them to German soldiers.

Erdan stated that, as in those days, the world is showing unacceptable nonchalance to the tragedy of the Jewish population which is now suffering at the hands of the Hamas terrorist group.

Some member states have learned nothing in the past 80 years. Some of you have forgotten why this body was established. So, I will remind you. From this day on, each time you look at me, you will remember what staying silent in the face of evil means.

The ambassador declared his team would not remove the star until UN members condemn the Hamas atrocities.

From now on, my team and I will wear yellow star. We will wear this star until you condemn the atrocities of Hamas and demand the immediate release of our hostages.

On October 7, Hamas announced Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel. The group’s militants then infiltrated into Israel and started launching rockets from the Gaza Strip.

In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Sword, carrying out a total siege of the Gaza Strip and conducting aerial strikes.
