“It’s very difficult not to feel admiration for Mr Putin,” Elon Musk’s father says

The family of US billionaire and the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk admires Russian President Vladimir Putin, the entrepreneur’s father Errol Musk said in an interview with the BBC.

“It’s very difficult not to feel admiration for Mr Putin,” the businessman’s father noted.
Errol Musk said that the Russian president always looks calm and confident and “is an example of a strong leader.”

When the interviewer said that Putin “started the war in Ukraine,” Errol Musk countered by saying that only with time will it become clear who actually initiated the conflict.

However, he defended his son’s position. “When the war started, he immediately handed over Starlink to Ukraine,” he said. “But this war does not end, it continues.”

Earlier, Elon Musk emphasised the network’s crucial role in defending Ukraine, saying that without it “the whole front line would collapse.’ However, he expressed concern that continued Western support for Ukraine could escalate into a wider global conflict, perhaps even World War III. He has consistently favoured a diplomatic solution rather than a protracted military confrontation.

Elon’s father was also recently quoted as calling the ongoing struggle “the greatest corruption machine in human history.”

In February 2024, in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, Putin expressed the opinion that Musk is a smart man who will do what he thinks is right and cannot be stopped. Commenting on Musk’s work, in particular his company Neuralink, which for the first time implanted a wireless chip in the human brain, Putin emphasised that it would be necessary to find a common language with him.
