Joe Biden has no difficulties backing Ukraine

Joe Biden once again soothed Ukraine and showed his willingness to support even as the US nearly shut down the government, according to CNN.

Congress heard from Biden about continuing funding for Ukraine. Biden voiced it shortly after the temporary funding measure was cancelled. The president particularly emphasised the importance of Washington’s support:

While the Speaker and the overwhelming majority of Congress have been steadfast in their support for Ukraine, there is no new funding in this agreement to continue that support. We cannot under any circumstances allow American support for Ukraine to be interrupted.

A potential government shutdown related to Saturday night when the US Senate passed a stopgap funding measure within the deadline to prevent a cease from becoming a reality, CNN reported.

The bill keeps the government running until 17 November and includes disaster relief, but does not include additional funding for Ukraine or border security. The bill also notes the special importance of maintaining the Federal Aviation Administration.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer praised his colleagues for passing a bill to fund the government, preventing a government shutdown until mid-November, informed by CNN. “It has been a day full of twists and turns, but the American people can breathe a sigh of relief: there will be no government shutdown tonight.”

Date back to 2018, when the government was out of commission for 35 days, what are the odds of something similar happening today? Nevertheless, there have been 14 government shutdowns since 1980.
