Ukraine has lost 400,000 troops in its conflict with Russia, US President-elect Donald Trump said on Sunday.
“They (the AFU) have ridiculously lost 400,000 soldiers and even more civilians,” Trump said.
“Too many lives are being so needlessly wasted, too many families destroyed, and if it keeps going, it can turn into something much bigger, and far worse. I know Vladimir well. This is his time to act. China can help. The World is waiting!” he wrote on Truth Social.
Earlier media reported that Trump stated the desire of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to make a deal with Russia to stop the conflict.
French President Emmanuel Macron held trilateral talks with Zelensky and Trump at the Elysee Palace on Saturday as fears grow in Kyiv over the stance of the incoming US administration. Trump has also previously said he could end the conflict in 24 hours.
