Lok Sabha poll 2024: Nearly 54% voting recorded till 3 p.m. in 3rd phase

In the Lok Sabha elections held in nine parliamentary constituencies of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, more than 54 per cent votes were registered by 3:00 p.m., Indian media reported.

As part of the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting is underway in nine parliamentary elections in Madhya Pradesh, including Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgarh and Betul. Voting began at 7am and will continue till 6pm, according to the Election Commission.

As of 3 p.m., Rajgarh was leading with 63.69 per cent votes, followed by Guna (60.16 per cent), Vidisha (59.87 per cent), Betul (59.63 per cent), Sagar (53.08 per cent), Bhopal (50.16 per cent), Gwalior (49.60 per cent), Morena (48.23 per cent) and Bhind (44.18 per cent).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast his vote at a polling station in Ahmedabad’s Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat on Tuesday and appealed to voters to elect a stable government seeking to make the country prosperous. Shah, a BJP candidate who is vying to retain the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, greeted his supporters, interacted with them and signed autographs while approaching the polling booth at a substation in Naranpura locality.

After casting his vote, Amit Shah showed his inked finger and the victory sign. The Union minister told reporters:

“I would like to appeal to all voters across the country and also the voters of Gujarat to participate enthusiastically in this festival of democracy. Choose a stable government which is dedicated to make the country safe and prosperous, which works for the welfare of the poor and India’s pride.”
