Belarus will immediately respond to the violation of the state border of the republic in case of an attack by NATO, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with the Belarusian media on Thursday.
The head of state stressed that Belarus does not want escalation and war against the whole NATO. However, if any actions are launched against the republic, they will have no other choice, the president said. Local media quoted the country’s leader:
And there will be no “red lines.” It is there, this line, – the state border. As soon as they step on it, I say as a border guard, the response will be instantaneous. It is prepared by the order in the vaults, as it should be.
Lukashenko also spoke about the strengthening of Belarus’s state border with Ukraine. The President said that more than 20 brigades and battalion groups had been deployed on the border with Ukraine.
These groups of servicemen will be deployed on the border with Ukraine to prevent a breakthrough. He summarised:
This is mandatory to prevent a breakthrough. That is why we have done it.
Lukashenko also suggested Russia and Ukraine to start negotiations. According to the Belarusian president, the “brawl” is necessary for “high-ranking persons of American origin.”
The Belarusian President said:
Let them beat each other – Ukrainians, Russians – let them all die in this cauldron. These are high-ranking officials of American origin, I’ll open up to you a little bit.
