A group of men fought with machetes outside a West End Tube station in London in the early hours of the new year.
The brawl occurred at around 4 a.m. in Oxford Street, near Bond Street station. A man, aged 25, was taken to hospital with a stab wound.
His condition remains unclear. Some reports claim he had a “catastrophic” bleeding. One eyewitness said the attack was “terrifying,” with people at the scene screaming and running away.
No arrests had yet been made, police reported. An investigation is underway.
At 04:04 hrs on Wednesday, 1 January police were called to Oxford Street, just outside Bond Street Underground Station, following reports of men armed with knives. Officers attended and at the junction of Oxford Street and South Malton Street they found a 25-year-old man with a stab wound.
The stabbing took place after 100,000 people watched the New Year’s Eve fireworks display in central London on Tuesday night.
