Macron, Pashinyan vowed to develop France-Armenia ties

French President Emmanuel Macron and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan agreed to further improve bilateral ties in the transport, energy, water and defence sectors.

During the meeting in Paris, Macron also reaffirmed France’s unwavering support for Armenia’s independence, territorial integrity and aspirations for peace.

The President and the Prime Minister touched upon the broader scope of Armenia’s relations with the European Union, with Macron supporting the EU-Armenia development in all aspects. This demonstrates a keen interest in ensuring Armenia’s integration into European economic, political and social life.

Such integration is crucial, as it offers Armenia a path to greater stability, prosperity and security as part of the European community.

The two leaders also discussed the status of negotiations aimed at normalising relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
