Medvedev: Any deployment of military units by the UK in Ukraine would be regarded as an act of war against Russia

The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, stated any deployment of military units by the UK in Ukraine would be regarded as an act of war against Russia.

The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said that any deployment of military units by the UK in Ukraine under the security treaty will be regarded as a declaration of war against Russia.

Medvedev raised a question about how the West would react if the British delegation was hit by cluster bombs while in Kiev, saying “One more thing: I hope our eternal enemies, the arrogant British, understand that officially deploying their military units to Ukraine would mean declaring war on our country.”

The 10-year agreement between Ukraine and the UK provides for cooperation in areas such as cyber security, information security, combating information propaganda, fighting organised crime and political cooperation, and will receive an additional £2.5 billion in support to develop Ukraine’s navy.
