Elon Musk, the renowned tech entrepreneur, and his partner, Shivon Zilis, have announced the birth of their fourth child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus. Zilis shared the news earlier today on X.
“After discussing it with Elon, and with it being Arcadia’s birthday, we thought it would be nice to share directly about our amazing son, Seldon Lycurgus,” she wrote.
Zilis shares her thoughts on their newborn
Shivon Zilis, an AI expert at Neuralink, took to social media to describe her newborn. In her post, she said, “Built like a juggernaut, with a heart of gold. I love him so much.”
Elon Musk responded with a simple heart emoji in response to the announcement.
The couple’s decision to expand their family aligns with Musk’s belief in the importance of procreation for societal benefit. This perspective was highlighted in various public statements and writings.
A look at their journey to parenthood
Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis first became parents in 2021 when they welcomed twins Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice through IVF. Their third child, Arcadia, was born in 2024.
In Walter Isaacson’s biography Elon Musk, Zilis spoke about her decision to have children with Musk. She explained that Musk had encouraged her, as he values the idea of intelligent individuals having children. For Zilis, the choice to have children with someone she greatly admires, rather than using an anonymous sperm donor, was a straightforward one.
Ashley St. Clair’s paternity claim
In a separate development, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair has claimed that Elon Musk is the father of her child. On 14th February 2025, she announced via X that she had given birth five months earlier and that Musk was the father.
St. Clair has also filed a paternity petition, seeking legal recognition of Musk as the father and requesting sole custody of their child.
Musk’s family and procreation philosophy
Musk’s first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, is the mother of six of his children. They had twins, Griffin and Vivian, as well as triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Their first child, Nevada, sadly passed away at just 10 weeks due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
In 2020, Musk had a child, X AE A-Xii, with the singer Grimes. The couple later had two more children—Exa Dark Siderael and Techno Mechanicus—through a surrogate.
With Shivon Zilis, Musk now has three children, and they have recently expanded their family once again with the arrival of Seldon.
