Musk nominated for 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

Billionaire and owner of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for supporting freedom of speech and promoting peaceful ideas.

The information was confirmed by Slovenia’s MEP Branko Grims. He also noted that it was he who applied for Musk’s nomination, which he announced on the social platform X.

The proposal that Mr. Elon Musk, for his consistent support for the fundamental human right of freedom of speech and thus for peace, receives the Nobel Peace Prize 2025, was successfully submitted today. Sincere thanks to all the co-proposers and everyone who helped with this challenging project!

Musk had already been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024, but the award went to Nihon Hidankyo, a Japanese organisation composed of survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic blasts.

In the past, Musk sought to promote peace in every way possible. In October 2022, he published a four-point plan for peace between Russia and Ukraine on X. The plan included UN-supervised elections in Russian-controlled territories, officially recognising Crimea as part of Russia, and maintaining Ukraine’s neutral status.

He also spoke of Taiwan as “an integral part of China” and expressed concern about civilians in Gaza.

The names of all 2025 Nobel Prize winners will be announced in October. Many believe that Musk’s winning the award would be well-deserved. However, Musk later revealed on X that he was refusing the peace prize nomination.

I don’t want any prizes.
