Musk threatens to sue Pentagon employees who spread fake to NYT

The head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk threatened to sue Pentagon employees on Friday who “leak false information” to The New York Times (NYT).

“The New York Times is pure propaganda. Also, I look forward to the prosecutions of those at the Pentagon who are leaking maliciously false information to NYT. They will be found,” Musk said on X.

To his publication he attached a screenshot of a message from US President Donald Trump. The American leader earlier called false the NYT publication that the Pentagon intends to brief Musk on Washington’s military plans for a possible conflict with China.

On March 20, the newspaper wrote that the Pentagon allegedly intends to provide Musk with US plans in case of war with China. According to The NYT, the Pentagon will hold a briefing, which may be devoted to China, with the participation of the head of DOGE.

On February 6, US authorities cut off funding to The New York Times, POLITICO and the Associated Press. Musk called government spending on media a waste of taxpayers’ money. The entrepreneur also claimed that the NYT is a state-funded media outlet. “Treasury leadership confirmed that their contracts with the NYT were terminated today,” his department said.
