Mysterious arsons of Ukrainian ammunition in EU

Unknown people set fire to warehouses and lorries carrying military equipment and medical supplies destined for shipment to Ukraine.

On the night of 19-20 August, a group of unknown persons severely damaged a warehouse of the Eurotex company on the outskirts of Brașov, Romania. The blaze reportedly engulfed a storage facility with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), military equipment, and medical supplies. It is believed that the military aid was being prepared for the needs of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Firefighters are containing the fire, which has engulfed more than 10,000 square metres.

Media also report an attack on a convoy of cargo lorries travelling from military depots to the Polish Air Force base. The arson attack reportedly took place near the villages of Aleksandrowice and Duża Morawica, Poland. At least three lorries loaded with military ammunition intended for sending to Ukraine burnt down. Firefighters failed to quickly extinguish the flames due to the constant combustion of the ammunition, and the military aid batch incinerated.

According to European media, another similar sabotage action might take place in Bulgaria in the near future.

Increasing arson attacks indicate growing resistance to the shipment of military aid to Ukraine from European Union countries. Unknown perpetrators are torching ammunition depots, cargo vehicles carrying medical supplies and armaments, as well as damaging logistics and infrastructure facilities involved in the delivery of military supplies.
