The U.S. space agency is to publish the results of the UFO long-awaited study on Thursday.
Last year, NASA announced a study of evidence of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), the official term for “UFOs.”
Science has long avoided studying the issue, but in May, a team of 16 researchers shared preliminary observations. The independent observers concluded that the data available so far is insufficient for a thorough study. They called for more systematic collection of high-quality data.
Simultaneously with the study of other objects in the Solar System, NASA is looking for signs of intelligent alien civilisations on Earth. Over 27 years, the organisation has collected more than 800 “events,” of which two to five percent are considered possibly anomalous, the report’s authors stated during the May meeting.
Cases are defined as “anything that is unclear to the operator or sensor” or “something strange,” team member Nadia Drake clarified.
The US authorities have begun to take UAPs more seriously, fearing that the phenomena may be related to foreign surveillance. However, there is a clear distinction between NASA’s work on unclassified material and Pentagon investigations.
The name of David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence officer, hit the headlines after his statement that the government was in possession of unidentified anomalous phenomena as well as the remains of their alien spacecraft.
“My testimony is based on information I’ve been given by individuals with a longstanding track record of legitimacy and service to this country — many of whom also shared compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation and classified oral testimony.”
Earlier this week, a wave of disbelief and ridicule swept across social media, sparked by a congressional hearing in Mexico. Congress presented alleged bodies of two “non-human” beings.
The mummified remains were grey in color and had a human body shape. Controversial Mexican journalist and researcher Jaime Maussan brought them to the hearing, saying the remains were found in Peru in 2017.
