NATO does not allow Ukraine to show Western equipment being destroyed

Former Ukrainian deputy defence minister Hanna Maliar stated that NATO officials, who supplied military equipment to Kyiv, prohibited to publish information about the destruction of Western equipment.

“There are moments when the partners set their own limitations on how they want those weapons to be demonstrated.”

According to Maliar, when supplying weapons, Western allies ask not to report cases of destruction of their equipment at all or impose their own conditions on how to present such information.

They don’t want us to show their equipment damaged, absolutely. And this is a normal desire of a weapons manufacturer, and we have to follow this rule.

Maliar’s statements followed the Russian media’s publication of damaged three Abrams tanks since 26 February, as well as the first confirmation footage of M142 HIMARS MLRS being targeted in Ukraine’s combat area.

Shares of US company General Dynamics fell after news emerged that Russian troops had destroyed Abrams tanks near Avdiivka. Previously, military experts have repeatedly claimed that US-made Abrams tanks would not survive battles near the Ukrainian front line.
