Netherlands condemns Israeli call for displacement of Palestinians from Gaza

On Wednesday, the Netherlands called Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s calls for voluntary migration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip “irresponsible.”

The Dutch Foreign Ministry stated that the country supported the two-state solution.

“The Netherlands rejects any calls for Palestinian displacement from Gaza or reduction of Palestinian territory. This does not fit a future two-state solution, with a viable Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel.”

The ministry also “strongly” denounced Wednesday’s terrorist attack in Iran.

The Netherlands strongly condemns today’s attacks in the city of Kerman in Iran. The high number of deaths and injuries in Iran is deeply saddening. Our thoughts are with the victims and their relatives.

More than 100 people have been killed and dozens injured in two explosions caused by “terrorist attacks” at a ceremony in the Iranian city of Kerman commemorating Quds Force Major General Qasem Soleimani, killed by a US drone in 2020.
