New EU sanctions package targets North Korean munitions shipments to Russia

Shipping companies involved in delivering North Korean munitions to Russia were among the entities included in the new 13th package of sanctions, EUobserver reported.

The list includes firms and individuals that manufacture weapons and supply critical weapons technology and electronics to Russian defence companies.

The European Commission conducted informal talks with EU member states to discuss the 13th sanctions package against Russia on 3 February. The sanctions are expected to focus on closing loopholes to circumvent existing restrictions on trade with Moscow.

Azia Shipping Company, Marine Trans Shipping, MG-Flot, M Leasing, and Sovfracht joined 113 other new entities and individuals to be added to the list of sanctions, according to the draft.
