Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has joined the list of seven films in history to have surpassed the $2 billion mark at the box office, after becoming the fastest film ever to reach $1 billion in global box office takings.
The fourth film in the series starring Tom Holland as the superhero has earned more than $2 billion at the global box office in just three weeks. The superhero film has also become the second-fastest to cross the $2 billion mark, after Avengers: Endgame, which reached this milestone in a record 11 days. To date, the film has grossed $785 million in the US and $1.23 billion overseas, totalling $2.022 billion worldwide.
Having achieved such impressive results, the film has joined seven other legendary films, including Avatar (2009) – $2.92 billion, Avengers: Endgame (2019) – $2.79 billion, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) – $2.33 billion; Ne Zha 2 (2025) – $2.27 billion; Titanic (1997) – $2.26 billion; Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) – $2.07 billion; and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) – $2.04 billion
Analysts are positive about the film’s success, as it currently ranks eighth on the list of the world’s highest-grossing films of all time, with nearly half a year still to go. It has every chance of finishing the year among the highest-grossing films of all time.
