North Korea confirms it tested a cruise missile “super-large” warhead

North Korea has tested a cruise missile “super-large” warhead and a new type of anti-aircraft missile off the country’s west coast.

The country’s missile administration spokesman said the tests were conducted on 2 February.

South Korea’s military also claimed that North Korea had launched new cruise missiles off its west coast.

North Korea’s cruise missile launches come amid Seoul’s intensified military cooperation with the United States and Japan.

“The tests are a part of the normal activities of the administration and its affiliated defence science institutes for the rapid development of the technologies in various aspects such as function, performance and operation of new-type weapon systems and had nothing to do with the regional situation,” KCNA news agency quoted the unnamed spokesman as saying.
