North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the country’s leading military factories, Korean media reported on Wednesday.
“Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected various parts of the shell manufacturing plant, where he familiarised himself with the production process and the progress of productivity increases and modernisation,” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
According to the report, the plant’s shell production has recently increased fourfold compared to the average annual figure. The high results in military production were achieved thanks to the modernisation of equipment.
Kim Jong Un also demanded that the DPRK army be equipped with the latest armoured vehicles.
According to the KCNA, the head of state inspected various parts of the plant, where he got a detailed look at the state of production, modernisation and the implementation of key tank technology research tasks.
Kim stated that the increase in production contributes to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and called for the successful experience of modernising this plant to be applied to other similar enterprises.
