Norwegian Crown Princess Marit arrives in Paris to support athletes

Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway has joined her husband in Paris in a bid to catch the 2024 Olympics just days before it wraps up, according to Royal Central.

Marit had originally intended to arrive in Paris earlier in the week with Crown Prince Haakon. However, her 27-year-old son, Marius Borg Høiby, faced arrest on Sunday and she stayed in Oslo to support her son.

Still, to cheer on several Norwegian athletes vying for gold, the crown princess travelled to Paris for the Olympics with her husband on Friday night and visited the Stade de France stadium.

Henriette Jæger, Norwegian track and field athlete and national record holder, competed in the women’s 400 metres on Friday and placed eighth. Karsten Warholm’s evening at the Stade de France was quite successful. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess greeted Warholm as he won a silver medal in the men’s 400 metres hurdles. This is Norway’s third medal of the Olympic Games with one gold medal, one silver medal and one bronze medal.

The Norwegian royal couple were loudly applauded throughout the evening and both HÃ¥kon and Mett Marit were delighted to be there. The Norwegian royal house shared photos of the couple at the stadium looking happy.
