The Pakistani Armed Forces stated that 40 civilians and 11 military personnel were killed and 121 others were injured as a result of hostilities along the Line of Control, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistani Army.
The attacks killed 40 civilians, including 15 children and seven women, and injured 121 others, according to the statement.
In addition, 11 soldiers were killed and 78 wounded during Operation Sindoor, the statement said.
On May 10, the sides agreed to a ceasefire, but a few hours later, drones were spotted in a number of cities in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as in Punjab, and air defence systems were activated.
On May 12, the Hindustan Times newspaper, citing sources, reported that India would only hold talks with Pakistan at the military level and that there would be no political contacts.
The escalation began on April 22 when an attack on civilians was carried out in the Pahalgam area of Indian-controlled Kashmir. India blamed Pakistani intelligence for the attack.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the day before that New Delhi had only suspended Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, making it clear that it would resume if necessary.
