Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh to meet with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, according to Arab media.
The President is scheduled to meet with the Crown Prince on Tuesday. However, the Palestine news agency did not provide further details about Abbas’ schedule in the Kingdom.
Abbas is accompanied by Hussein al-Sheikh, secretary of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), and Majed Faraj, head of the General Intelligence Service.
This is Abbas’ second visit to Saudi Arabia since the war between Israel and Hamas began on 7 October last year. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the conflict has so far claimed the lives of more than 40,400 Palestinians and caused widespread destruction in the enclave.
