A 15-year-old student was attacked at a school in Germany for wearing a necklace with the word “Allah” around her neck, authorities reported on Saturday.
Recent events in Germany show the tensions and rejection of Muslims among the indigenous population. Baseless hatred against Muslim communities in Germany is increasing on the grounds of hatred against Muslims due to propaganda that targets Muslims.
Police confirms that another attack took place on Friday afternoon at a high school in the Berlin town of Wilhelmstadt.
At least five classmates attacked a 15-year-old student in a high school toilet, ripped a necklace off her neck and physically assaulted her. A teacher administered first aid to the victim, after which she was taken to hospital, the statement said.
Police are investigating whether the attack was “religiously motivated.”
Germany, however, has the second largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France. Furthermore, among the country’s nearly 5.3 million Muslims, 3 million are of Turkish origin.
