Protesting Polish farmers restricted the passage of lorries through the Hrebenne – Rava-Ruska checkpoint, according to the Ukrainian Customs Service.
From 10:00 on June 4, Kyiv time, to the afternoon of June 6, Polish farmers are planning to block the cargo section at the Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne checkpoint. Therefore, the movement of trucks out of Ukraine is expected to be put to a full halt.
Poland stated that it would allow no more than 24 trucks per day and up to four lorries with humanitarian supplies into Ukraine. This is two intervals of 12 trucks each. The State Customs Service asked carriers to take the message into account when planning their routes.
Protesters do not allow lorries to leave Ukraine.
Since November 2023, Polish farmers and hauliers have periodically blocked checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border. They demanded the cancellation of benefits granted by the EU to truckers from Ukraine after the outbreak of the war in February 2022.
Two years after, in February 2024, the protests intensified, concluding only by the end of April. Then, on April 29, Polish farmers finally lifted the border blockade. Ukraine’s losses reportedly totalled hundreds of millions of dollars.
The movement of other vehicles in both directions remains unrestricted.
