President of Bulgaria vetoed supply of armoured vehicles to Ukraine

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev vetoed the delivery of armoured vehicles to Ukraine, local media reported.

The agreement on the supply of armoured vehicles from the Bulgarian arsenal to Ukraine was signed in Sofia on August 8 and in Kyiv on November 13.

On November 22, the Bulgarian parliament approved in the first and second readings the delivery of vehicles with existing armament to Ukraine.

Radev argued that the vehicles could be used to protect Bulgaria‘s borders or to help citizens during natural disasters in remote areas.

I am guided by the conviction that the safety, health and lives of the Bulgarian citizens should be a top priority.
