The Princely House of Liechtenstein has officially announced the wedding date of Princess Marie Caroline, daughter of Prince Alois and Princess Sophie.
The solemn ceremony with Venezuelan businessman Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer is scheduled for August 30, 2025.
According to family representatives, details of the upcoming event will be revealed closer to the date, approximately one week before the wedding. This landmark event has already attracted widespread interest, as it will be the first wedding among the children of Prince Alois and Princess Sophie.
Princess Marie Caroline announced her engagement at the end of last year. In an official statement, the family expressed their joy at the news: “Prince Alois and Princess Sophie are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Princess Marie Caroline, to Mr. Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer.”
The 28-year-old princess grew up in Switzerland, where she began her studies before continuing her education at Malvern College in England. She also holds a degree in fashion design from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York.
Today, Marie Caroline works in the fashion industry in London, while her fiancé is involved in the investment business. This wedding will be a significant event for the princely family, whose last wedding took place in 2021, when Princess Marie Astrid married Ralph Worthington in Tuscany.
However, despite her status as the daughter of the Crown Prince, Marie Caroline is not in line for the throne. Liechtenstein is the only European monarchy that still has an agnatic system of succession, which excludes women from inheriting the title.
