Putin to meet Xi Jinping in China in October

The Russian president will travel to Beijing for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Reuters.

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev announced the visit, adding that the West’s attempt to rein in Moscow and Beijing would only strengthen co-operation between the two powers.

In October, we look forward to thorough bilateral talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

Putin will attend the third Belt and Road Forum at the invitation of Xi Jinping. The Kremlin stated that the International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant issued against the Russian president was an evidence of Western hostility towards Russia. The country responded by launching a criminal case against the ICC prosecutor and the judges who issued the warrant.

Patrushev said Russia would develop ties with China, noting that the two nations had a “comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.”

Russia is committed to the progressive development and strengthening of Russian-Chinese relations.
