Qatar Press Centre condemns Israeli attack on journalists

The Qatar Press Centre deplored the Israeli military air strike on Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent Wael Al Dahdouh, and cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa.

The attack on Wael Al Dahdouh was a full-fledged crime, as his family was the victim of an attack in their home on 25 October, according to the Centre.

In the context of the Centre’s efforts to enhance joint journalistic activities to defend press freedom and ensure the safety of journalists, the Centre approached Reporters Without Borders. The need to take the lead in protecting journalists to force the Israeli military to stop blatant violations of international laws and conventions was stressed, as the Centre continues its efforts to expose crimes with the help of journalists who have witnessed Israel’s blatant aggression against civilians and civilian targets in the Gaza Strip since 7 October.

The Qatar Press Centre wished a speedy recovery to colleagues Al Dahdouh and Abu Daqqa and safety to all journalists working in the Gaza Strip, which is now witnessing the most intense fighting since the offensive began.
