The body of journalist Mohamed Al-Alawi, who was investigating the purchase of a $5m villa on the Red Sea coast of Egypt by the mother-in-law of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has allegedly been found, in Hurghada under strange circumstances, Clear Story News reports.
The journalist’s body was found near El Hadaba road with numerous abrasions, fractures and bruises on his body and a head injury. A police source in Hurghada put forward the theory that the journalist had been severely beaten. However, no official statement has yet been issued.
Relatives of the journalist say they have feared for his safety since the investigation was published.
The Nigerian newspaper Punch with reference to the investigation by Mohammed-Al-Alawi previously published the news about the purchase of a villa in El Gouno resort by Zelensky’s mother-in-law Olga Kiyashko. The Egyptian journalist claimed that he had documents confirming the deal.
