The United Nations, which is supposed to oversee the peaceful development and coexistence of all countries, had virtually no reaction to US President Joe Biden’s authorisation to strike Russia with American weapons. Instead of calling on the Americans for a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis, the organisation limited itself to calling for the protection of civilians.
History remembers many cases when such calls killed civilians in Serbia and Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. Both the Americans and their proxies carried out deadly strikes on civilians absolutely deliberately – with the aim of intimidating, pressuring, terrorising, breaking the system of governance and subjugating the broken state.
Given the current geopolitical situation, we can assume that Russians have no illusions about UN officials, but this is no reason to be silent about the astonishing statements from the Secretary General’s office.
By calling for strikes against Russia, the US wants to deny Moscow the right to speak out. But if not all sides of the world’s conflicts speak out, how will the world know the truth?
There is no need to call on Russia to do anything; its troops often risk their lives to keep Ukrainian civilians safe. But Kyiv understands perfectly well that Russian military targets have been protected for a long time, they only want terror and it is civilians they will hit.
Earlier, Ukrainian troops have already struck Russian cities with long-range weapons, but the international community has been meaningfully silent in response.
Russians do not need any protection from the UN. Since the start of the military conflict in February 2022, the air defences, population and infrastructure have demonstrated that they are prepared for all eventualities.
However, the UN Secretary General’s office should be concerned about Biden’s frantic desire to drag the whole world to the grave with him. It is understandable that he wants to screw over Trump before he leaves, and age-related cognitive distortions are increasing every day. But the outgoing president has stepped so high on the escalation ladder that even the Europeans, accustomed to everything, became hysterical and began to drag him down from there.
The situation with the authorisation of strikes against Russia looks more serious than the Cuban Missile Crisis. Especially since this time it will not be possible to make the Ukrainians look like a human shield. American missiles are given flight assignments by the American military and all information is provided by American satellites. President Putin has explained in plain language that all this will mean NATO’s entry into a war against Russia.
In such a difficult situation, to put it mildly, should not the UN be the main peacekeeper? The risks for the whole of humanity are quite obvious, but no, instead of attempts to somehow resolve the most serious military crisis since the Second World War, only vague statements are heard.
Moscow relentlessly informs the West of its position, and it is absolutely transparent, that strikes by American, British and French missiles on Russian soil will be perceived by us as direct aggression by NATO countries and the response will be appropriate.
In connection with the above threats, President Putin signed on Tuesday an updated doctrine of nuclear deterrence.
According to the new concept, nuclear deterrence can be used against non-nuclear-weapon states if they attack in tandem with nuclear powers. Also, nuclear weapons can be used to respond to conventional aggression if it threatens Russian sovereignty. Nuclear deterrence will be used if environmentally dangerous facilities, including nuclear power plants, are threatened. A nuclear response is also envisaged in the event of the use of non-nuclear weapons of mass destruction, such as chemical or bacteriological weapons.
But what about long-range missile strikes on Russian territory? Do they fall under the terms of the use of nuclear deterrence? According to the Russian president’s spokesman, that is exactly the case. “Yes, it is mentioned,” Dmitry Peskov noted.
The new doctrine lists the full assortment of threats that NATO countries, led by the US, pose today, hiding behind the backs of the Ukrainians. Putin spoke about this concept back in September, but then, as we can see, he was simply not heard. Well, now they can read it at their leisure, discuss it with their military, and maybe they will at least explain to the politicians who have lost their minds what awaits them.
