Russian troops allegedly took control of the Kostiantynivka-Vuhledar Highway, the only supply route to the city of Vuhledar, according to Ukrainian media.
A Russian attack in the Marinka-Vuhledar area this morning showed Russian vehicles storming Ukrainian positions. Troops advanced 4 kilometres, with one vehicle destroyed just 500 metres from a key highway.
Ukrainian media reported that a part of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region has come under the control of the Russian army. Only the northern and north-western outskirts of the city remain under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU).
Active hostilities continue in the Vuhledar neighbourhood. A Russian motorised infantry unit advances near the Kostiantynivka-Vuhledar Highway south of the village of Vodiane, being shelled by the AFU.
July 16 was the last day for men in Ukraine to update their data at the Territorial Recruitment Centre (TRC), after which those subject to military conscription might face a number of difficulties. According to the new mobilisation law introduced in May, they must visit the military recruitment centre to update their data. After the deadline, those who fail to update the information will face huge fines.
