Saudi Arabia and the United States held a joint naval exercise in the western city of Jeddah, the Saudi Defence Ministry announced on Saturday. The Blue Defender 26 exercise, taking place at King Faisal Naval Base, aims to enhance joint military cooperation and exchange expertise between the two nations.
The ministry said the drill included field and tactical scenarios, during which both forces demonstrated a high level of professionalism and combat readiness.
These exercises reflect their ability to operate together, strengthen operational capabilities, and enhance maritime security.
The drill comes after Riyadh and Washington signed agreements across several fields, including defence, worth $270 billion, according to US President Donald Trump’s remarks during the US-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington in January.
The Blue Defender 26 exercise highlights the ongoing partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to regional stability.
