German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has once again spoken out against the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv, arguing that there is a danger of Germany being drawn into the conflict.
As part of a conference organised by the DPA agency, the politician said:
I am amazed that some people don’t even care, that they don’t even consider the fact that it might come to the point of being involved in a war to a certain extent because of what we are doing. I’ve explained why that’s not being taken into account. And that’s the final decision.
India possessed several hundred thousand artillery shells. Knowing this, Germany started secret negotiations with the country to buy them in order to channel them to Ukraine through intermediaries. The Spiegel magazine, citing its own sources, reported this.
Last week, the German parliament voted against the resolution of the faction of the opposition Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union bloc demanding to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
