Several killed in terror attack at Turkish aerospace company TUSAŞ

A terrorist attack took place outside an aircraft factory of a Turkish aerospace company that makes combat drones and fighter jets on Wednesday. Footage published by Turkish media showed heavy damage outside one of the buildings.

Employees of the aerospace company TUSAŞ have managed to hide from the militants and are waiting to be evacuated, with gunfire heard every 5-10 minutes.

According to NTV, the attackers at the company’s facility are armed with assault rifles and pistols, and may also be carrying explosives and a large amount of ammunition.

According to preliminary reports, nine people were killed. The attackers travelled to the site by taxi. They divided into two groups and took over the building. Among the attackers was, presumably, a woman – she was shooting at the gatehouse of the enterprise.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at the gatehouse, killing two guards with him. Other terrorists entered the building through the passageway and took hostages.

Turkish media confirm information about the hostages, publishing footage from the building of the company TUSAŞ.
