South Africa’s FM to attend Antalya Diplomacy Forum

South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor will attend the Third Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) in Turkey on 1-3 March as a panellist and will hold a bilateral meeting with her Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

Minister Pandor is scheduled to participate as a panelist on the topic, Understanding the Global South, on Saturday.

Pandor will also participate in a high-level session on women, peace and security on the sidelines of the forum, organised by Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdogan.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, referred to as the international dialogue, will host representatives from 147 countries, including heads of state and government, foreign ministers, senior officials and diplomats, among others.

Ankara’s envoy to Pretoria, Aysegul Kandas, stated that relations between the two countries were flourishing.

“We would like to hold the first meeting of the Binational Commission established between our countries in Türkiye, hopefully at the level of deputy president or president. This will propel our bilateral relations, which have been flourishing during the last two years since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Pandor had previously visited Turkey to attend the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya in 2022.
