Sunak plans to stay in Downing Street at least until 2029

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak vowed on Wednesday to stay in British politics for at least another five years, regardless of the outcome of the general election.

In a statement made during an appearance on Nick Ferrari’s LBC Breakfast programme, Sunak expressed his willingness to serve his constituents in Richmond. He said:

“I have to win first. And that’s up to my constituents in Richmond. I hope very much I have the chance to represent them for another parliament. I love doing that job. And of course I’ll do that.”

The announcement came amid growing scepticism among voters about the financial viability of the party’s manifestos.

The election campaign has been turbulent for Sunak, with recent polls showing a significant drop in support for the Conservatives in London.

According to a new poll, the number of seats in Parliament could fall from 20 to 4. Despite this, Sunak was given a glimmer of hope by the latest inflation figures, which fell to 2 per cent in May from 2.3 per cent in April.

The arrival of Nigel Farage as leader of the Reform Party, which could pull votes away from the Tories, is making things increasingly difficult for the Conservatives.
