Swire Renewable Energy purchases British blade repair company

Swire Renewable Energy, a renewable energy inspection, repair and maintenance company, has acquired Altitec Blade Services, which focuses on the repair and inspection of wind turbine rotor blades, Splash247.com informs.

With the acquisition, Swire Renewable Energy will significantly expand its blade repair and maintenance capabilities. The company will also increase its market share through Altitec’s offices in the UK, Germany, Australia and South Africa.

Altitec’s offices will be merged in the coming months and will then start operating under the Swire Renewable Energy name as part of a wider group. Altitec’s acquisition follows the purchase of Wind Power Solutions in Sweden in October 2023. Tom Dyffort, managing director of Altitec Blade Services, commented:

We are looking forward to integrating with Swire Renewable Energy and optimising our marketing through the larger combined network, enabling us to grow and scale in both onshore and offshore blade repair services internationally.

The Swedish firm manufactures wind turbines and operates across Sweden, Norway and Finland. Ryan Smith, CEO of Swire Renewable Energy, stated:

“We are very focussed on developing our newly acquired business units in Africa and Australia. These are emerging high-growth renewable energy services markets where we have significant group experience. We will be leveraging our long-standing relationships in Africa and Australia to ensure we develop a long-term competitive position.”
