Taiwan’s authorities are investigating claims that Foreign Ministry documents are for sale on the dark web.
On Friday, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung set up a special team to trace the source, track the channels, and assess the scale of the leak.
The ministry said it is looking into whether any employees were involved. If investigators confirm staff participation, prosecutors will handle the case.
Officials said most of the documents date from 2024. They believe some may have been forged or altered before appearing online.
The ministry will review its systems and make improvements to strengthen security.
