The Israeli army launched a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the eastern West Bekaa region on Tuesday.
The official Lebanese news agency NNA reported that Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on the West Bekaa region in the east of the country. Four of the attacks were carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and one by F-16 fighter jets. No casualties were reported as a result of the attacks.
Israeli warplanes spotted in the skies of the western Bekaa region made intermittent supersonic flights and also struck the Nabatiyeh region in the south of the country. The Litani riverbed was bombed in the Markayoun area in Nabatiyeh, and the town of Yahmour al-Shikayf in Nabatiyeh was also hit.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said that the death toll in an Israeli army attack on a car in Yahmour in the city of Nabatiyeh has risen to 2. In an earlier statement, the health ministry said that 1 person was killed and 3 injured in a drone attack in the town of Yahmour.
Despite the November 27, 2024 ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, Israel frequently violates it.
According to Lebanese authorities, at least 94 people have been killed and 288 injured in attacks organised by the Israeli army since the ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli army, which entered towns on the border line during ground attacks on Lebanon, continues its presence in 5 locations, including Hamamis Hill, Aziyah Hill, Uweida Hill, Mount Balat and Lebbouneh Hill, despite the withdrawal clause in the ceasefire agreement.
