Russia will certainly respond with equal action in terms of confiscating frozen resources to finance Ukraine.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on 27 October that the EU executive branch was working on a proposal to pool some of the profits from frozen Russian state assets to help Ukraine and its post-war reconstruction.
Vyacheslav Volodin, the State Duma chairman, warned that if the European Union attempts to confiscate the assets, Moscow will take appropriate measures, the price of which will be twice as high.
