The Danish royal house releases new details about Queen Margrethe’s abdication

Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Prince Christian, the cabinet secretary and Danish government representatives will gather in the Council of State Hall at Christiansborg Palace for the historic moment – Royal News.

In the Council of State Hall at Christiansborg Palace on 14 January, Queen Margrethe will sign a declaration of abdication, after which Crown Prince Frederik will become King Frederik X. Prince Christian will also become Crown Prince Christian.

The new King Frederik will take the seat at the end of the table. Christian will take his father’s former place on the right side of the monarch and will be given a permanent seat on the Council of State as heir to the throne.
