French Foreign Minister Stephane Séjourné has told France Inter radio station that France does not intend to send its troops to Ukraine.
Stéphane Sejourne said on air:
The French will not die for Ukraine or see hostilities, as our borders are clearly established – to prevent Russia from winning. And this is what the president of the republic said.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said Western leaders had discussed the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, but no consensus had been reached.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said Germany would not send its troops to Ukraine. Scholz later once again refused to supply Ukraine with Taurus missiles. The chancellor believes that in order to ensure control over the use of Taurus, the German military would have to be sent to Ukraine, which is impossible.
