The President of Ukraine is seeking for support in Canada

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the Canadian Parliament on Friday seeking support from Western allies in Ukraine’s war against Russia, according to Washington Times.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office says the Ukrainian President arrived in Ottawa late Thursday night after meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden and lawmakers in Washington. Trudeau greeted Zelensky and would also speak at Parliament in Ottawa on Friday.

This is Zelensky’s first visit to Canada since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine in February 2022. Previously, he spoke in the Canadian parliament almost immediately after the war started.

Zelensky and Trudeau plan to meet with the local Ukrainian community in Toronto. About 1.4 million people of Ukrainian descent live in Canada. This makes up almost 4 per cent of the country’s population.
