EU delegation in partnership with embassies of EU member states will hold the second cookery festival “Tastes of Europe” in Azerbaijan.

Festival events will be held outdoors at the Water Sports Palace in the European Games Park on October 6.

Those wishing to taste European cuisine, take part in culinary masterclasses and competitions will be able to visit the festival from 12:30 to 19:00.

Embassies of Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden will introduce visitors to the cuisine of their countries.

Young chef Yagub Zeynalzade will conduct a masterclass on cooking plant-based dishes using local seasonal products. He will also talk about the environmental and health benefits of bio- and eco-products. This will be one of many EU Green Diplomacy events that the EU Delegation is organising in the coming weeks to raise public awareness in this area. Peter Michalko, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, said:

We are happy to showcase and share European culinary traditions with Azerbaijani friends. We invite everyone to join this unique culinary journey to European countries and enjoy unforgettable delicacies, a live music programme and much more.

The event will also include award ceremonies for a European cooking competition and a drawing competition organised by the Azeri Home Chef Facebook page. There will also be a demonstration of dishes prepared by the shortlisted participants. The festival will be accompanied by a concert of local musicians performing songs in Azerbaijani and European languages.
